Certification of Wi-Fi 6 devices has just started.
The second half of September began with the Wi-Fi Alliance announcement about starting the certification program for Wi-Fi 6 compliant devices. The certification procedures are to guarantee users the appropriate level of the support for the IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) standard by the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6™ devices they will purchase. Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6™ equipment aims to usher in a new era of wireless Internet access – to provide better performance for all users, with greater network bandwidth for service providers, improved customer coverage and new opportunities for advanced applications.Some features supported by Wi-Fi 6:
- Orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) – effective channel sharing to increase network performance and reduce latency for both unlink and downlink traffic
- Multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) – sending more data to many devices at the same time
- 160 MHz channels – increased bandwidth to ensure higher performance while maintaining low latency
- Target wake time (TWT) – for significant extension of the battery life e.g. in IoT devices (Internet of Things)
- 1024 quadrature modulation (1024-QAM) – for increased throughput of Wi-Fi devices by encoding more data in the same spectrum
- Beamforming – signal processing technique for directional signal transmission/reception
The first device that got the Wi-Fi 6 certificate is Samsung Galaxy Note 10.
Conversion of DVB-S/S2 SAT TV channels to DVB-T in hotel TV systems.
DIPOL has introduced TERRA TDX-4168 R81625 transmodulator that can provide a wide range of DVB-S/S2 FTA TV channels converted to DVB-T multiplexes. The multiplexes can be easily distributed along with terrestrial TV broadcasts to all hotel rooms via typical coaxial cabling used in antenna systems. As all the channels are available in the uniform DVB-T standard, there is no need for additional satellite receivers.
TERRA TDX-4168 FTA R81625 transmodulator
One TDX-4168 R81625 panel can receive all FTA channels from 16 satellite transponders and convert them into two independent groups, each with four neighboring DVB-T multiplexes (each multiplex with maximum throughput of 31.66 Mbps). In practice, each of the eight DVB-T multiplexes can carry 6 SD channels or 2-3 HD channels (so, the total capacity is about 50 SD channels or 15 HD channels, or an adequate number of mixed SD and HD channels between these numbers). The administrator of the system selects the required channels from the satellite streams and forms the DVB-T multiplexes (muxes). Thanks to the built-in remultiplexer, each DVB-T mux can carry freely selected satellite channels.
We invite you to watch a video showing the configuration of a similar model, the TERRA tdx-480 R81621 DVB-S/S2 (8PSK, QPSK) to DVB-T (COFDM) transmodulator. A big advantage of the presented solutions is the possibility of integrating transmodulators with other modern components of SMATV systems, especially with dSCR/Unicable multiswitches allowing for broadband distribution of DVB-S/S2 signals via a single coaxial cable.

The Signal HDMI H3603 converter/extender allows for transmission of HDMI signal over long distances via minimum Cat.6 twisted pair cable. The set can also extend IR control signals. Measurements of optical path attenuation - a meter with measurement memory.
Installers performing installations in multi-dwelling units, such as apartment buildings, prefer measuring devices equipped with the function of memorizing measurement results. This applies to measurements in both copper and fiber optic installations. Thanks to this meter functionality, the installer can perform the entire set of measurements faster, and generate the relevant report in just a few minutes, without the need to tediously note individual results.The new optical power meter Grandway FHP2B04 L5822 can save up to 999 measurements. This meter is particularly useful when measuring FTTH installations. As an example, in an apartment building with 100 apartments, with two fibers provided to each apartment, the number of the necessary measurements amounts to 200 or even 400 (for both directions). The method of remembering a result is very simple - the technician should just hold the LOAD button for 2 seconds. The results can be seen on the display of the meter or on a PC screen. The application offered by the manufacturer allows for the generation of measurement reports that can be exported to a .csv file.

A noteworthy function of the meter is automatic recognition of the wavelength of the connected light source and measurement of its power. The function is especially useful in WDM systems, when the installer does not know the actual locations of the 1550 nm and 1310 nm transmitters. In this situation the automatic function solves the problem.
NVR-based integration of intelligent functions of IP cameras and PTZ camera.
Hikvision IP cameras even from budget series (except EasyIP Lite) allow for intelligent image analysis in the form of detection of virtual line crossing and area intrusion. The functions can be activated and configured after logging in to the camera with the use of the iVMS-4200 client software or directly from a Hikviosion NVR. The virtual line crossing and area intrusion detection can be used to detect people, vehicles and other objects. In response to the crossing of the line in a defined direction or intrusion into a defined area, the system can inform about the event, trigger video recording or alarm output, send an email, etc. These events can also be linked with PTZ camera in order to trigger a preset, patrol or route.The system presented below employs 10 compact IP cameras Hikvision DS-2CD2023G0-I K17631 and one PTZ cameraDS-2DE4225IW-DE K17912. The cameras are connected to the DS-7616NI-K2 K22165 NVR that allows for video recording and integration of the intelligent functions of the IP cameras and the features of the PTZ camera. The PTZ camera has been mounted in the middle of the housing development, to enable detailed observation of any part of the inner area. The compact IP cameras installed inside the area have been setup so that they use the line crossing or area intrusion detection function. Any of the events triggers a specific preset defined in the PTZ camera, i.e. monitoring of the corresponding part of the area with defined parameters, including zoom. As a result, the PTZ camera can provide additional information with a wealth of detail, which makes it possible to identify the object that caused the alarm. If several areas are violated at the same time, the first event will be handled. If the parking function was activated in the PTZ camera, then after a specified period of inactivity, the camera will perform the actions specified for it. By default, another violation will trigger the next preset.
